Wonderful effigy showing us count Gottfried von Rieneck wearing a breastplate over a pourpoint with bombard sleeves, hourglass gauntlets, full armour for the legs and a bascinet with an aventail. The tilting helm sports an extra plate strapped over the front, a mantle and a small crown with a swan as its crest. It's the work of the local "Master of the effigy of Bishop Gerhard von Schwarzburg". The bishop's monument can be seen in St. Kiliansdom.
To make it fit into a wall during refurbishings in the church in 1615, some parts have been cut off. After allied bombings in 1945 the effigy reappeared after having been hidden for 330 years.
