Kent Bobbing
"Pray especially for the souls of Sir Arnold Savage, knight, who died on the vigil of St. Andrew AD 1420 and Dame Joan formerly his wife, on whose souls may God have mercy Amen" -
His son instructed that his father was to be buried "in the chapel of the Blessed Mary in the church of Bobbying leaving 20 marks for the construction and making of one stone with two ymages of laton over, the body of a man, armed, with the weapons together with the epitaph of his death written around the stone. The image of my mother dressed in a mantel with the arms of her father William of Etchingham. (His mother regardless of the instructions is dressed plainly as a widow )
They lived at Frodsham Castle Co. Chester and Bobbing Court. Arnold was Sheriff of Kent keeping the peace after the Peasants Revolt , Speaker of the House of Commons 1404. Knighted by Richard II after bringing 1 knight, 28 esquires and 36 archers on an expedition to Scotland he stayed in the good books of Henry IV Bolingbroke being a member of the King's council and Steward of the household of Prince later Henry V.
Arnold was the son of Sir Arnold Savage and Eleanor daughter of Ralph St Leger by Joan Savage

SIR ARNOLD SAVAGE, KNT., of Frodsham Castle, co. Chester, and of Bobbing Court, co. Kent, at the former of which this very ancient family had been seated for many generations, was elected a Knight of the Shire for Chester, and was chosen Speaker of the House of Commons in the second Parliament of Henry IV, holden at Westminster on the 22nd January, 1401
Sir Arnold Savage was again chosen Speaker of the House in the Parliament holden at Westminster in the 5th year of Henry IV., A.D. 1404, the proceedings in which, although interesting to the general reader, throw no particular light upon the character of our Speaker.
Sir Arnold Savage, was sheriff of Kent, in the reign of Richard II., and held his shrievalty at Bobbing Court, near Sittingbourne, in great magnificence, according to Hasted, the learned topographer of Kent, who, in reference to the distinguished merit of this great family of warriors, states that no less than three knights, Sir John, of Bobbing Court, Sir Thomas, and Sir Roger Savage, together with some esquires of the same family, all Kentish gentlemen, attended Edward I. at the siege of Carlaverock, and that they were of such estimation in that county, that their arms are to be found in several churches ; those of Sir Arnold Savage, being "Argent, six lioncells sable, as they now stand on the roof of Canterbury Cloysters."

Sir Arnold Savage of Bobbing, Kent (8 September 1358 – 1410) was the English Speaker of the House of Commons from 1400 to 1402 and then again from 1403 to 1404 and a Knight of the Shire of Kent
